For Material Suppliers & Ground Support Contractors — South Africa
Does your shotcrete mix actually have fiber in it?
Fiber is what keeps sprayed concrete from cracking, delaminating, and spalling off the rock face — whether your site runs dry-mix or wet-mix. Direct-factory macro synthetic fiber for South African underground mining.

The Problem
Three things working against you underground
⚠
Fall of Ground (FOG)
Rockfall remains the leading safety and legal risk in South African underground mining. Support that fails doesn't just cost money — it costs lives.
⚠
Wire Mesh Corrodes
Steel mesh rusts in acidic mine water. It weakens over years exactly when you need it to hold — and installing it means crew time spent in the danger zone.
⚠
Ground Conditions Change
Geology shifts across a single mine — and even within the same tunnel. A support solution built for one section may not hold in the next.
South Africa's Mining Geology
Dry-mix or wet-mix — fiber matters either way
South Africa's underground geology is unique. Narrow, confined sites lean on dry-mix shotcrete. Larger, better-capitalized operations increasingly run wet-mix for more stable, consistent quality. Here's the honest tradeoff of each.
Dry-Mix
- Advantage: Compact, portable equipment — fits narrow, hard-to-access spaces
- Advantage: Lower capital investment, no batching plant required
- Tradeoff: Water is added by hand at the nozzle — mix consistency depends on operator judgment
Wet-Mix
- Advantage: Precisely metered water and admixture dosing — far more consistent quality
- Advantage: Higher output capacity, lower rebound and material waste
- Tradeoff: Requires a batching plant and larger capital investment
📈 The trend: as more operations gain access to batching infrastructure, wet-mix adoption is growing across South African mining. But whichever process your site runs, brittle concrete without fiber still cracks, delaminates, and fails under blast vibration.
The Product
High Strength Shotcrete 48
A single-filament PP/PE macro synthetic fiber, engineered specifically for sprayed concrete ground support.
| Material | Polypropylene / Polyethylene blend |
| Form | Single filament, flexible |
| Length | 48 mm |
| Diameter | 0.7–0.8 mm |
| Tensile Strength | ≥ 570 MPa |
| Elastic Modulus | ≥ 10 GPa |
| Energy Absorption | > 500 J |
| Corrosion Resistance | 100% acid & alkali resistant |
| Typical Dosage | 5–9 kg/m³ |
📦 Water-soluble film bundle packaging — reduces shipping volume, disperses faster with no clumping, and fits dry-mix hand-dosing at the nozzle especially well.
Who We Are
Direct from the factory in Shandong, China
We manufacture macro synthetic fiber at our own facility in Shandong Province — not a trading company, not a reseller. Deposit today, ships in about a week. Every batch tested to JG/T 221-2010 at a CNAS-accredited laboratory before it leaves our warehouse.
Real Project Reference
High Strength Shotcrete 48 has been supplied for deep-shaft ground reinforcement on a new-energy project in Western China, at approximately 5+ kg/m³ dosage.

How to request a sample
1
Fiber selection for ground support is a technical decision. If you're not the rock engineer or technical lead responsible for shotcrete mix design at your site, this is the person who can actually evaluate and approve a fiber switch — loop them in early.
2
We send a free sample for your own lab or on-site trial. Testing before committing to a bulk order is expected and encouraged — that's how it should work.
3
Message us on WhatsApp with your role and site details, and we'll get a sample moving.
✈️ Being upfront about cost: air freight for a ~2kg sample to South Africa runs approximately $100 USD. We'll confirm the exact cost with you before shipping — no surprises.
